Speaking
As the head of multiple organizations, I have had the opportunity to act a spokesperson on issues such as women’s empowerment and education, as well as food insecurity. I have spoken at meetings with investors, galas and fashion shows, as well as on live panels with professionals in the good food movement. Below are some recordings of my speeches over the years, all of which have been self-composed.
Food Tank Summit 2018 Panel
After serving as the inaugural President of The Store, George Washington University’s Food Pantry, I was asked to represent the organization on a panel at the annual Food Tank Summit in Washington, DC. I spoke about how The Store addresses food insecurity, engages students in the good food movement, and ensures all voices are brought to the table in discussions about how to serve the community. Highlights can be found at 15:00 and 46:00.
Anthropologie/She’s the First Fashion Show
When the clothing retailer Anthropologie partnered with the nonprofit She’s the First in the fall of 2019, they held a series of fashion shows at some of their locations across the country benefitting STF. As the George Washington University chapter of She’s the First was the closest chapter to their Georgetown location, I was asked to speak on behalf of my chapter and the national organization to open the show.
Champions of Change Gala 2019
In my first year as President of She’s the First GW, I conceptualized a celebration of student organizations on campus who uplift and empower women, which turned into the Champions of Change Gala in April of 2018. This speech is from the second gala in 2019, my second and final year as President, in which I began the speaker portion of the night.
